All it takes is 60litres- to get licensed raw milk in summer at Jannei-

We were just doing the figures for another potential customer Peter, in Melbourne. In summer we can deliver 5 boxes of stock = 60 litres for about $150 to Victoria. This is $2.50 a litre to cover freight. You add a sticker to on sell it in Victoria -that says fully licensed milk NSW- clean for Human consumption in NSW =On Sold as Pet Milk in Victoria because of Victorian laws. Jannei milk has to have no E. coli in NSW and plate counts have to be bellow 12000. We are licensed to produce raw milk by the NSW Food Authority.

Fresh milk can then be for instance, $16.75 a litre and is within the reach of any delivery destination Jannei and our partner refrigerated company can get to. You can gather a few friends for a fortnightly order during our summer season. Jannei wants to stay on farm and keep producing great, healthy milk for our customers. Do the math with freight costs as they are an add on- let your friends know the milk plus freight price and get an order together for 60 litres – add cheese to the top of the box and what a bargain- We call it ship-share at Jannei. Freight to then South and North coast and ACT is about $100- $150 so even less per litre if you get orders together for the community- Get people to Prepay the litres plus freight and put in an order. It does take passionate people like us with a passion to have a heathy product and do it through love. It’s not always about money – Does every small business cover every cost ? And then add their profit margin?

Hope to hear from you soon or see some orders coming in from our regulars as they share their passion-We at Jannei need to focus on milk sales – we make great cheese too, but the fact is we need to sell bulk milk in summer – and don’t forget the kefir lasts a month and is full of probiotics too. Feight IS dear so if we can get some passionate goat milk lovers to get orders together for their friends it would be a move toward volume= cheaper fresh produce and covers freight too. Our milk comes refrigerated bellow 5C -you just need to keep it bellow 5C by law while you get it out to friends and family or they come to you. Ice would help with this! Or a fridge in the Garage!
