Jannei Lidsdale – once known as Cheddar Chèvre, this cheese has been renamed to honour its birthplace in the country town of Lidsdale, near Lithgow.
A true destination cheese for the cooler months — stop by on your way out west, imagine yourself in rural France, and pick up a wheel to enjoy along the journey.
Aged for around 8 months, Lidsdale develops deep, rounded flavours that linger beautifully on the palate. It pairs wonderfully with the fresh season’s Bent Back as well as with Jannei’s delicate curds, whether pressed or unpressed.
To complete the experience, Janette and Neil offer a selection of handmade farm preserves — the perfect companions for their cheese. You’ll find Jannei easily on Google Maps, and a visit is always worth it.
