Don’t know if you have noticed but we have had incidents of theft through people sticking our cheese in their pockets at our shops and now stealing from a truck doing our deliveries. 15 litres of Kefir ready for Leichardt store was stollen last week from the driver’s truck. The driver said last Wednesday. Our shops have been decreasing their orders for our small expensive artisan cheese because customers- or rather non-customers-are sticking a cheese in their bag and not paying for it!
This is affecting our orders and therefore our bottom line as you can imagine. We have to cover losses from trucks. We are asking our supports to tell people they are stealing from the farmer and hardworking people partnering us. There are hardworking people in the middle -not covering their super or wages for themselves. That’s who they effect.
97% 0f employers are small business- and most of them would not be taking a full wage if any at present to get by this difficult time.
At Jannei we produce cheese and products with integrity-honest, clean, edible, wholefood products. Jannei as a farm is covering so many costs already and suffering summer undercutting. Another story. Our dairy has integrity and we tick the boxes as licensed food manufacturers. Yes, it’s tough out there but rest assured we will not compromise our standards.
To those who steal- you know who you are! Dishonesty makes you untrustworthy and you are compromising your integrity as a person- it’s not smart or clever its criminal. We are sure your friends don’t find you a person to trust. Unless it’s in crime?
