Description

The Jannei Buche Noir – multi-award winning goat cheese. Is a pressed fresh curd goat cheese with melting, mouth-watering flavour. This our Australian take on what is traditionally known in France as a fresh goat chèvre.

Delicate and creamy, you can taste the fresh milk with which it is made. As with all Jannei cheese it is made the same day as the milk is collected.

The vegetable ash coating is fully edible. It is a French invention. Ash helped to protect the cheese while it formed a rind. You cannot taste the ash on the Noir and we do not age it like the french style. The goat cheese is hand packed as a fresh and creamy cheese and it stays that way in the vacuum seal packaging. The ash coating is mainly for colour on the cheeseboard although it still has protective properties.

The flavour of the Bûche Noir is subtle, sweet and creamy, is consistent in standard as you can see by its awards. It is a great addition to your cheese platter, a 100% Australian, a Champion, fresh unique on farm produced cheese.

Bûche Noir comes in 150gm round or a 250gm log. It is vacuum sealed with a 8 week best before date.
